San Francisco Psychologist Martha Williams, Ph.D.
My Practice
With over 30 years of practice, in both private and medical settings, I have successfully helped clients with mental health concerns including anxiety, depression and stress management.
I have also worked in hospitals and medical practices, helping people to manage chronic pain, chronic illness and medical issues.
We can collaboratively decide what kinds of changes you want to make and the goals that you want to achieve. Often this only requires brief, short-term therapy of 8 to 10 sessions focused on a specific issue. However we also have the option to take more time to understand and resolve more complex issues that have arisen over time.
My Approach
My approach is based on Mindfullness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will focus on increasing awareness and challenging thoughts, beliefs and behaviors to create a more satisfying life.
Who I Help
I work with adults, 18 and older.
Treatment Techniques
Studies have shown that Mindfullness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be as effective as medication in treating anxiety, depression and stress, including chronic pain and medical issues.
